We met one day at our local gym, and bonded over our mutual worrying about our cats at home. Were they lonely? Were they bored? We couldn't stay for a coffee as we had to rush back to our babies! As our friendship continued we dreamt of going away together, but were faced with the ever present worry, of who would look after our cats? Epecially at the same time? We then realised this was a problem for many cat owners. We scoured the internet for independent sitters, but who could we trust? These people would be coming into our homes and we would be leaving our most beloved pets with them. And we wanted more than just a feeding service. We know our cats need company and care, and we need peace of mind when we are away from home. Our cats are part of our family, as we are sure yours are. That's how we came up with the idea of FurEver Friends. We vet (uh oh, say that quieter) all our sitters. They all have a love of cats, and will cuddle, play, feed, groom, and nuture your cat/s. From a long day at the office, to longer periods of time away from home, we will meet your needs, and those of your cats!

Love, Katie and Amy xx

As soon as we receive your booking request, we will send an invoice for the engagement period. We ask for a 25% deposit to secure your booking. Once we have this, we will confirm. We will then contact the purrrfect sitter for you, and they will contact you to arrange your free consultation before they start the cat sitting for you. Before the booking starts, we ask for you to complete the outstanding payment. The invoice will include instructions on how to pay into our account.

What if I have to cancel ?

Bookings and booking cancellations must be made by email so that we have a record. A cancellation fee will be applied. All cancelled bookings from a notice period of 2 weeks and more will be charged at 25% regardless of a signed T&C contract, this will cover our time and effort taken to allocate one of our sitters for your bookings, and is the deposit amount you will you have paid.

If you need to cancel a cat-sitting 7 days or less prior to the booking start date, we will keep the whole 50% fee.

What happens after I book?

Your designated cat-sitter will reach out to you directly to arrange a date/time for an initial consultation ahead of the booking, this is a complimentary part of the service. The cat-sitter will meet you at your home at the agreed date and time to speak about your cats and their needs. This is also an opportunity to show the cat-sitter around your home, show them where the cat food and litter tray are kept, and discuss any additional needs your cat may have. The initial consultation is also an opportunity for you to do the key handover with the cat-sitter.

What time will you visit?

Our morning visits can start as early as 6 am up to 11 am, depending on our sitters' schedules they will visit within this time frame. Our evening visits start from 4:30pm-8pm latest. If you have specific visit hours that you would like to request this needs to be added to the booking form, we will try our best to accommodate this, but we would prefer flexibility.

What safety checks do you do on your sitters?

We meet all of our cat-sitters for an in-depth face to face interview before joining our team. We carry our essential reference checks and ask them to supply us with identification and proof of address. Whilst some of our sitters hold a DBS certificate, some do not, but we feel our background checks and trial work periods surface. We also ask for proof of id both photo and document. Our sitters update us on a regular basis throughout bookings, we are very involved in the business operations.

What happens if my cat has special medical needs?

Please supply us with any information you think we may need on the additional information section of the booking form. When you meet your cat-sitter for the initial consultation this will be an opportunity to talk about your cat's medication and additional needs directly with your cat-sitter. The initial consultation is a great time to demonstrate how you administer medication for your cat.

We would be happy to discuss your cat's medical needs and generally most needs can be met.

If your cat needs urgent medical attention from a vet, if possible we will try to consult you beforehand, but if we are unable to get hold of you and your cat's health is getting worse we will need to take your cat to an emergency appointment at your vets. There are additional charges for vet visits, which can be found on our website, but we will send you a terms and conditions document before your booking takes place to give you a full breakdown.

Additional pets?

If you have booked us for cat-sitting and have other pets such as fish, a reptile, a bunny or hamster for example we are happy to help with feeding, there may be an additional cost depending on the request. Please add information regarding this on the initial booking form and we can discuss this further via email. Occasionally we can accomodate dog care too! Subject to sitter availability.

Emergency precautions?

We ask that you keep a spare key with someone who we can contact in case of emergency and provide us with contact details of that person.

What about travel expenses for sitters?

Being a small company, sadly are not able to pay our sitters for their travel expenses. We do have sitters that drive to their bookings. In those cases, it would be purrfect, where applicable for parking permits to be organised by you for when the booking commences, and for it's duration. Some clients very kindly choose to reimburse parking costs to our sitters and we are very happy for you to arrange that aspect with your sitter directly.
